What is Ying Yang Vinyasa Yoga?
Yin and Yang are the two basic concepts of Taoism, which expose the duality of everything in the universe. They describe the two opposing and complementary fundamental forces found in all things: Yin is the female principle; earth, passivity, darkness and absorption. Yang is the male principle; sky, light and activity.
Every being, object, idea, have a complement which its existence depends on. And that complement exists within itself as well. Thus, it is concluded that there is nothing in its pure state: neither in absolute activity, or absolute passivity.
This balance between Yin and Yang energies manifested in a deep self-awareness of our bodies, in which all our movements and internal responses are observed from a place of intention, observation and wisdom. This balance is the creation of a more introspective journey in our asana practice, leading to a meditation space, where it is possible to integrate the spiritual and physical, mental energy of our bodies with the present moment. Yin Yang Vinyasa seeks to generate the balance between Yin and Yang practices.
